Knowing Allison’s skill, depth of research, and her sensibility, I asked her about optioning CONSUMPTION even before I read it. I mean come on – how is it that there was never a film called CONSUMPTION?  Imagine my horrified delight when I actually read it and was chilled to the bone by this entirely plausible masterpiece of Gothic psychological horror.

And notice that there’s a lot of humanity and decency in the telling – on the part of all the characters – which gives the story some positive value in addition to its fantastic entertainment value. Add to that the simple-to-film storytelling form that the story suggests.  Finally, it illuminates an aspect of lust that we all know is there, but never think about – especially in such a horrific way.

I am confident that CONSUMPTION will be the “small” story that makes a huge and lasting impact on American film.             –Jim Terr
