COMMENTS IN
ADDITION TO THOSE ON BOOK COVER:
"It’s even more fun with the pictures! Such
fun to accompany you on your professional and very personal journey."
-Phil Proctor, Firesign Theatre
"Nice work!" -Vint Cerf, internet pioneer
Jim Terr
interview with Sharon Vandermeer March 28, 2021
"Hard to put down.
24-Ttrack Chronicles is a personal
journey, an inside look at the music world, a fascinating mix of times
and experiences."
-M.B.
At first I thought, why would I
want to read about 24-track anything? (I had never even
asked myself why 8-tracks were called 8-tracks, and wouldn't have
listened to the answer if i had.). And it would probably be more
interesting to hear the
phone book read in monotone than
to read about technical stuff sprinkled with names. However, I am
pleased to say, I WAS SO WRONG.
First of all, it was about your life, and people. Second, your narrative
style is so good that it really wouldn't have mattered what the topic of
the book was; it was riveting. Third, you even made the technical stuff
palatable--even though most of it did not "stick." I learned a
lot:
I
thought it might be complicated to record; but now that I've read
your explanation, I wonder how anybody ever does it. I want to argue
with your comment that you have lived an uneventful life. How can it be
uneventful, if you live it in the company of talented geniuses?
Well, the book was great! Also very nice as a physical
entity--neat, good
layout and
font, visually pleasant, and all that jazz. Mazel Tov
on an excellent job!
-CLTA
“Absolutely fascinating. Jim Terr is a genius! What a life he's lived!
You’re going to love this book." -Thom Hartmann
"A hugely entertaining read" -David Allan, Country Music
People Mag. (UK)
"Fascinating reading, and the video links are a
real bonus." -David Allan, Country Music People Magazine, UK
INTERVIEW June 4, 2021 with Richard Eeds on KTRC, Santa Fe, NM
"I was fascinated by (the book's) folksy delivery and unique reflections
on meeting and working with major talent in the music business from the
1970s through today. Jim has a way to make these encounters come alive
and lets you drop in on some very private recording studio encounters
and conversations. A quick read with some very informative internet
links included."
-Bob Wayne, Grammy-winning recording engineer
"The one thing you know everything about turns out to be one of the many things I know nothing about. I am enjoying the
book lots." -B.M.
"Fun to read,
even for someone with no prior interest in the technical aspects of the
business."
-P.S.
"I started my work late today cause I
couldn’t put it down." -D.G.
"Enjoyed
the heck out of it. Read it front to back in one sitting. Cool stuff,
and you sure rubbed elbows with some of the best." -J.A.
